Maymont Park
Maymont Park is one of the treasures of our neighborhood. 100 acres within the city, along the James River, where you can see 2 gardens and tons of wildlife exhibits. Less than 2 miles from the 2600 Block of W Cary St, Maymont has a petting zoo, black bears, bobcats, bison, and a nature center. Growing up in the neighborhood, and into parenthood, Maymont is a place every member of my family has enjoyed.
Cost: Free to enter, but donations are suggested. Nature Center has an added fee.
